Legacy Giving: Simple Ways to Include Fisher House in Your Will

With a planned giving gift to Fisher House Foundation, you combine your desire to support military and veteran families with your legacy. Whatever the size of your estate, you will have personal satisfaction knowing that you are helping families be together during what may be a stressful and difficult time in their lives.

There are several gift arrangements to consider. To help you get started, the Foundation has partnered with Giving Docs, a safe, secure, and free, no obligation suite of estate planning tools. If you already have a will but would like to make a change, Giving Docs offers a codicil, allowing you to update your will without needing to recreate it.

Charitable Gift Annuity: A charitable gift annuity supports the Foundation and provides fixed payments to you for life in exchange for your gift of cash or securities. The minimum age to create an annuity is 55, and the dollar amount is $20,000. For more information, please contact Kathleen Hogan, Director of Individual Giving, at 888-294-8560 or khogan@fisherhouse.org.

Appreciated Securities: You can bequeath gifts of donor-advised funds, stock, mutual funds, IRAs, or cryptocurrency. If you would like to avoid capital gains tax on appreciated stock, mutual funds, or cryptocurrency today, speak to your financial advisor or accountant about donating these assets.

Beneficiary Designations: You can make Fisher House Foundation a beneficiary of assets that are typically not covered in your will, such as IRAs, 401(k)s, pensions, payable-on-death bank and brokerage accounts, and life insurance policies.

Bequest: Join fellow Fisher House Foundation supporters on Giving Docs, a safe, secure, and free-for-life suite of estate planning essentials. If using an attorney to create your will, please include Fisher House Foundation’s EIN (#11-3158401) and complete mailing address (12300 Twinbrook Parkway, Suite 410, Rockville, MD 20852) in your will. If you would like a member of the Fisher House team to contact you regarding your estate plans, kindly fill out this form.

Fisher House Foundation Legacy Society: The Legacy Society is a special group of donors like you who wish to ensure that the Fisher House mission continues for many generations. Including a gift in your estate to Fisher House Foundation is a powerful way to support our nation's military heroes for decades to come. Whatever the size of your estate, you will have the personal satisfaction of knowing that you are helping keep families connected during their loved one's medical treatment.

Legacy Society Benefits: We are grateful to everyone who includes Fisher House Foundation in their estate plans. When you share your intentions, you will be listed as a member of the Legacy Society in Fisher House Foundation's Annual Report, if you choose to, inspiring others to give and help ensure that your wishes are met.

For Consideration: Please understand that by documenting your bequest, you are in no way making your bequest binding or irrevocable. You can revise your estate plan if your circumstances change; however, we kindly request that you notify us as a courtesy if this occurs.
